no duh?!? Anyway, I am feeling slightly anxious about tomorrow. I have a full day in the field, my second full day, and I am happy about that. However, I get to do two math student assessments, teach a read aloud lesson, and do my first running record all in one day. this one day happens to be tomorrow. I know I will survive and I keep telling myself, I can’t do any harm to the children if I mess up.
This weekend was so fun, I don’t want it to end. I guess I have no control over the order of the days so I should probably get going on my homework.
I’ll let you know how my day was tomorrow afternoon.
This is how my t-shirt turned out. Scott e-mailed me pictures of how some of his stuff turned out and it was way cool! I am so glad we did this because it was a really fun time.
Today was Scott’s twenty-fourth birthday and last week I asked him what he wanted. He specifically asked for a blue shop apron with front pockets from Ace. I thought, simple enough. So I set out to get his shop apron this morning only to be dumbfounded by the fact that I could not find a shop apron that was blue AND had front pockets. What did I do? I got him the tan shop apron. I knew he would be displeased with this so I tried to figure out how to make it special. This is when I went to Ben Franklin’s to buy tie dye so that Scott could have a specialized shop apron. So just an hour ago Scott, Katie, Tristan and I all tie dyed shirts and a shop apron. I am excited to see how mine turns out! I want vibrant colors that cover a lot of my shirt. This was a fun experience because I haven’t tie dyed since elementary school at a birthday party. Oh yeah, it’s pretty funny that Scott now owns one tie dyed shop apron and five tie dyed undershirts.
Great Times are always had with Scott around.
I just got my brand spanking new digital recorder. It’s an Olympus WS-110 (whatever that means). I am very excited to use it, however I need to find a AAA battery first. I will let you all know how it works! It is one of the few, if not the only, recorder I could find that worked with macs, how frustrating.

Oh yeah, it’s way too warm outside for a fall day, 76 degrees is the high today! Mother Nature has it out for me!

Monday’s kind of stink. You have a whole new week to think about and to plan for. You have to adjust to the lack of free time you have and you have to get up really early (6am in my case). Stupid Monday’s, you give me a headache.
Tristan and I had a very fun evening last night when we met up with Scott and Katie and we went through the corn maze in Danville. I was expecting it to be fun and not as hard as it actually was. As we were driving home I felt like we were still in a maze, sort of like the feeling you get after you get off a trampoline and you still feel like you are jumping. It was great fun and next year I think we might do the scary one closer to Halloween. I highly recommend the maze as a fall activity, we got our moneys worth of confusion and laughter.
The cold weather made me think about apple picking so I called Hacketts Orchard to ask when the courtland apples would be ready. The woman said they would start picking Saturday!!! I cannot wait for apples and apple cider donuts.

I am feeling slightly overwhelmed lately. I feel like I don’t have enough time to even stop and catch my breath or to stop and smell the clean fall air. Literacy block is going to kill me but I am determined to get through it. I have a couple of really full days ahead of me. One day I’m teaching a lesson, doing a math assessment, and doing a running record (a reading thing). Luckily I get along with my mentor teacher and I am excited to get to know the students better as the year goes on. I am working on overcoming my shyness, when I am a real teacher I wont have time to be timid so I need to get over it now. I love all the things I am learning and I don’t feel overwhelmed with information I just feel like I have so many assignments for so many similar classes that it’s hard to keep them straight, even with my amazing organizational skills!
Well that is all for tonight. I think I am going to go to bed and read about some fantastic women in American History. I know Tristan will be staying up for at least another hour (Daily Show and Colbert Report).
