My List…well half list
I saw a list similar to this on other’s blogs and I thought it would be a good way to start blogging again. I guess it’s just a list of 100 things about me,
1. I am really organized and I enjoy planners
2. I am scared to death about being responsible, eventually, for the primary education of children
3. It bothers me when people criticize teachers, although I should probably get used to it.
4. I actually love my job because the children I work with are fantastic
5. I am a vegetarian and I try not to judge people who eat meat.
6. I think eating local is very important to the well being of our economy.
7. Books are fantastic gateways to different worlds, picture books are fantastic
8. I am an awkward person
9. I enjoy exercising however I find it difficult to find time
10. I think people deserve second and third chances
11. I am not sure if I want children when I grow up
12. However, if I do have children some day I want to be as good a parent as my parents were to me
13. My brother means the world to me,
14. As does Katie
15. Tristan is my world
16. I am very satisfied with my childhood, I learned humility and optimism (which is kind of funny if you knew me as a screaming unhappy child)
17. Music is pretty much my world, happy music makes me happy and sad music makes me sad.
18. Tristan is the smartest person I know, except when he tries to say that I am wrong.
19. I am currently trying to raise my self-esteem with the support of Tristan
20. MTV shows are sadly my addiction, The Hills is a must see
21. My favorite television show was Gilmore Girls. I am currently watching the L Word which is a good show but not for the closed minded people of the world
22. Coffee does not become me, I get too hyper
23. If I did have children I think adoption would be my choice, the world is over populated and I can offer a happy loving home.
24. I desperately want to move but ultimately want to live in Vermont
25. Autumn is my favorite season, winter is a close second
26. I like to snowboard but I am not a “snowboarder”
27. I like history, but not as much as my father
28. I have never had the chicken pox, neither has Tristan (how unlikely)
29. I have 23 teeth instead of 24 and I have never had braces
30. I work with children yet I am a slight germaphobe
31. I enjoy snow days just as much as I did when I was 6
32. Elementary school was a miserable time for me, I did not understand what was being taught but desperately wanted to, that’s why I want to be a teacher
33. I hope to make a difference in at least one persons life
34. Being an Elementary Education major is a lot harder then a lot of people think it is, yeah we don’t write a thesis but we do have this thing called a portfolio. Plus, it’s not our fault or our professors faults that we actually understand how learning happens
35. Sarah Palin drives me crazy, for some reason she makes me feel surprising manipulated as a woman
36. I am a rabid liberal (boarding on progressive socialist) however, I try as hard as I can to understand the opposite side of the spectrum.
37. I like to dress up in my teacher clothes, it makes me feel like a professional.
38. I support my troops but I do not support the war
39. On a similar note, I’m pro-choice but that doesn’t mean I am anti-life
40. It makes me heartbreakingly sad to think about what some children go through while they grow up and the living conditions some people have to live in
41. I hate the unbalanced distribution of wealth in America, it makes me sick to my stomach
42. My family is something I like to talk about, almost on the edge of bragging. I have two successful parents and my brother is so innovative that I find him fascinating.
43. I am addicted to Facebook and the internet
44. I feel great anxiety when I have to read aloud, probably another thing I should get over
45. I am a Mac user and I wouldn’t have it any other way
46. There is one person that I can think of right now that I wish I got along with but I never will, unfortunately
47. I have always looked up to my brother but it wasn’t until recently that he started to respect me as a human being
48. The first movie I ever cried at was A Walk to Remember and I was in high school, since then I am a basket case who cries at the freaking Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
49. One of the most amazing experiences of my life was seeing the fireworks from the top of Camel’s Hump. Most of my amazing experiences happen when I am in nature either hiking or skiing or snowboarding. Also going to Belgium and the Netherlands was pretty amazing too
a. I usually get very homesick, however recently I haven’t…I think I have grown out of it
50. I feel very unsure of my future but surprisingly it is a good feeling, almost like I can do whatever I want
51. I am proud of my grades I have been on dean’s list for the past four semesters
The next 49 to come soon… I need to go to bed
